Keep an eye on this space to get regular development updates as well as screenshots, concept art, videos and more detailed information about the game. Please note that not every link on this site is active yet, as there are still details that need to be fleshed out, but we’ll be filling in the gaps in the coming months as development of the game continues.

If this is the first you’re hearing about The Tavern, and you’re wondering what the game is all about, well – here’s a summary for you, as well as some early work in progress (WIP) screenshots:

The Tavern is an online roleplaying game set in a pseudo-medieval sword & sorcery-like fantasy world, which mixes single-player adventuring with multiplayer interactions taking place in… taverns!

These taverns serve as social hubs where adventurers and would-be heroes meet up before and after their adventures, and it’s the place where players socialize, tell tales of their daring deeds and wild escapades, play drinking-games and sing drinking-songs and potentially engage in drunken brawls. It’s where they dance on the tables, gamble with dice or cards and rest after their latest heroic endeavors.

Speaking of heroic endeavors… That would be the single-player adventures, which are essentially stand-alone short-stories with branching plots and turn-based combat, each one using randomization of locations, events and encounters to make every experience different. As with every grand adventure, each of these adventures start – and end – at a tavern!
